さて、先週から仕事で早朝シフト（７時から）が始まり、５時半に家をでて仕事に向かう毎日が続いております。どうも、２月いっぱいまでは続くようです。で、気になるのはやはりめいきょんの反応。
The morning work shift (from 7am) started last week, and I have left my place at 5:30am to head for the office. It seems like it will last till the end of Feb. What I concern was Meikyon's reaction.
「めいきょんは、昼間寝てるから、仕事がんばれーＺｚｚｚｚ」"Meikyon sleeps during the daytime. You work hard. Zzzzzzz"
起床する４時半ごろというのは、冬なのでまだ真夜中のごとく真っ暗。始めの頃は、なんでこんな夜中に起き出して出かけるのか、釈然としない感じでした。わたしも、ちびっこを一人真っ暗な部屋に残していくのが心苦しく、なんだかストレスを感じていたんですが、めいきょん一人でお留守番頑張っているようです。
I wake up around 4:30am and it's still very dark like midnight in winter.In the early last week, Meikyon seemed like it was hard for her to understand why I had to get up in the midnight and leave home. I felt sorry for leaving such a small kitten alone in the dark apartment and had some stress from it. But, so far, it seems that Meikyon has been doing all right.
「めいきょん、お利口さんだったよ。窓から鳥を見てたよ。」"Meikyon has been a good girl, gurdian. I saw birds through windows."
でも、やっぱり寂しくて仕方がないのか、わたしが帰宅すると「きーきー」「ぴゃーぴゃー」と鳴きながら、喉を鳴らしながら大歓迎。その後も注意を引きたくて「ぴゃーーぁあぁあああ！」とよく鳴きます。ちびっこなので、大きな声ではないですが、かわいそうになってついつい自分が夕飯などの準備をする前に遊んであげるのですが、それでも足らないらしく、機を見てわたしを呼びます。
But, she may miss me alot, she cries out and purrs so much to welcome me when I come back home in the evening. Even after that, she keeps on crying out to catch my attention on herself. It's just a tiny voice, but it is enough to make me feel sorry and feel like playing with her before settling myself or cooking dinner.But still, it is not good enough for her. She calls me out whenever she wants my attension whatever I am doing.
「ごろごろごろー、ぐぉろごろごろー、もっとなでろー、ごろごろー」"Prrrrrrr, pppprrrrrrr, rub me mooooooore, pppprrrrrrr"
かわいいし、慕ってくれてるのは嬉しいんですが、疲れてるときは、やっぱ疲れるよねー、めいきょん。でも、小さいのに、一人ぼっちを真っ暗闇の早朝から耐えるめいきょんは、えらいと思う。部屋をちらかすわけでもないし、何かを傷つけたりもしない。なので、わたしはそれに応えないとね、めいきょん：）
It's lovely and I'm glad that she misses me a lot, but when I am very tired I sometimes feel a bit annoying about this...But, Meikyon, being such a little girl, she can bare the loneliness from the very early morning and I am pround of her. She doesn't make rooms messy nor damage anything. So, I want to be a good gurdian in return, Meikyon :)
「うんそうだね、めいきょんいいこでしょ、だからごはんはおジャコだけにしてもいいよ？」"Right, Meikyon is a good girl, right? So, why don't you give me the fish snaks instead of that boring cat food?"
今日も帰ったらすぐ遊ぼうね。Let's play as soon as I get home today too, Meikyon!

めいきょんの目はすこぶるでかい。まん丸で、顔の半分を占めるほど。めいきょんと生活を始めて以来、町で目にする猫が不自然に見えるときがあるんだけども、不自然なのは決定的にめいきょんのほう。デフォルトで、びっくり目。眠くてたまらなくなって、初めて普通サイズの目。
Meikyon's eyes are extremely big. Totally round and they occupy half of her face. Since I started living with Meikyon, sometimes the other cats in the town look weird to me, while it is definitely Meikyon who is different. The default size of her eyes are, "SURPRISED!" and they become normal size when she gets very sleepy.

Today, the friend who looked after Meikyon gave her the new biological name ; Cat-Owl. COOL!

めいきょん、やや下あごが上あごより前に出ています。これ、結構シークレットなチャームポイント♪（で？笑）Meikyon's lower jaw is a bit longer than the upper jaw. This is rather a secret charm point of hers :p (so what? lol)
「。。。国破れて山河あり。。。めいきょん夜にして眠り近し。。。」
つまり、バトルに敗れて、眠くなった、と。She's been defeated and gets sleepy. okaay.

最近、職場でイギリスのコメディーがブームになっていて、その中でも人気なのが、ＢｉｇＴｒａｉｎとＭｉｎｄＹｏｕｒＬａｎｇｕａｇｅ。ＭｉｎｄＹｏｕｒＬａｎｇｕａｇｅはどっちかというと、正統派コメディーで、ＢｉｇＴｒａｉｎは不条理感たっぷりのドライ・ユーモアとでもいったらいいでしょうか？わたしはどっちも好きです。
Recently, me and my co-workers in the office have been into British comedies, such as "Big Train" and "Mind Your Language." Mind Your Language is a kind of a traditional comedy and Big Train has unreasonable kind of dry humor (?!) I like both of them a lot.

今日iPhoneに恐ろしいほど撮りためためいきょんの写真を、始めの方から見ていて思ったこと。「おー、ちびっこちびっこ、と思っていたが、ちみも結構大きくなったんだのー。」
I was browsing the tremendously many photos stored in my iPhone today, and realized ; "Ohhhh, I've thought you are still very small, but you've grown up, Meikyon! "
「めいきょんッテイウノハ、何デスカ？食べ物デスカ？ダッタラ、クダサイ。」 "What is 'Meikyon' ? Is it a food? Then, give it to me, pweeese.'
。。。未発育を表現するのに、カタカナを使ってみました。笑 ドウデスカ？ロボットみたい？はは：Ｄ
この頃は、くるっと丸めれば手のひらにのっていましたが、今や肩に乗られると３分で重くってかなわなくなってくるわけです。

今週の月曜日（成人の日、祝日）、姉と二人で池袋のＬＯＦＴに出かけ、セールになっていた二組２０００円のカーテンを購入しました。
This Monday (Coming-Of-Age Day. A national holiday), I went to LOFT in Ikebukuro with my sister and bought a pair of curtains on sale, which price was just 2000yen!
めいきょんの右に見えているのがそのカーテンの一部。The cloth right next to Meikyon is a part of the curtains.
「ポイントは、床にひきずる長さで、寒気を遮断できることでございます、奥様。」
"The good point of these curtains are that they are much longer than the windows (actually reach over the floor) and you can shut out the cold air, ma'am."
まあ、ひきずっているので見栄えはよくないのですが、寝室だし、誰に気兼ねしましょうぞ。それに、ひきずってる部分でめいきょんはかくれんぼができます！（まだ見たことないけど。。。）
Well, as the bottom of the curtains are actually long over the floor and they look bad, but they are in the bedroom and whom do I have to worry about?! And moreover, Meikyon can do hide'n'seek with the extra length! (I've never seen her do that though...)
「は！カラス！」 "Oh, crows!"
ま、そんなもんさ。少しでも寒くなければ、めいきょんもわたしも、幸せ。なんてったって、二枚で２０００円ってのは、かなりのお買い得だったんだし！
Well, life goes on, anyawys. Less colder it is, much happier Meikyon and I are. Whatever, they were only 2000 yen for a pair, and good deal in fact!

最近巷では、咬み癖のある猫を「ガブリエル」と呼んでいるようで、めいきょんも戦闘モードに入ると、それは強いガブリエルになるのでした。。。
Recently, people have called cats who bite a lot as "Gaburieru" (this comes from the sound, 'gaburi/gabu' ), and Meikyon becomes a strong Gaburieru once in the battle mode....

さて、めいきょんとの再会も果たし、ふわふわの子猫との生活の幸せをかみ締めている私です。めいきょんは、私の友人にしっかり遊んでもらい、いつでも注目を浴びていたせいか、注意を向けてほしいときに「きぃきぃ」鳴くようになりました。ほそーいかよわい声なので、ついつい言うことを聞いてしまいます。。とほほ。
Finally I got back Meikyon home with me and has recognized the happiness to live with this fluffy kitten. As Meikyon had played really much with my friend and had caught the massive attention of him, she has started crying out, "Kyyyyy, kyyyy!" when she wants my attention. I have been controlled by this tiny poor voice whatever I am doing...orz
「ふん、めいきょんを置いていくから悪いんだよ！」 "Ha, it's your fault. You went back to Kochi alone!"

高知で初詣に出かけた神社は、漁師町にある久礼八幡様で、ここには毎年行っています。猟師町だけあって、魚が豊富だし、それにともなって猫も沢山いるわけで。。。本日は番外編をお届け。
The shrine, Kure Hachiman in Kochi that I went for the new year's visit is in a fisherman's town and my family viists there every year. Being a fisherman's town, there are much fishes and thus, many cats. I would like to present an extra blog today.

「丑年だと聞いたもので。。。牛柄の毛皮を着てみました。どうですか？」
"I heard that 2009 is the year of cow....I dress in holstein cow fur. How do you like?"
穏やかな海を見つめる彼。Looking at the calm sea..
「結構デザインには凝ってみたんですけど。流行るといいなー。」 "I spent much time in thinking about the design. Hope it'll be in style. "
無理かと。。。。牛くん。。。

猫どころか放し飼いの鶏までいる猟師町。Not only cats but free-range chickens were also there in the fisherman's town.
「。。。鶏があたいを見てる。。。。汗」"The chickens are watching me.....brrrrrr"
まったく猫を怖がらない鶏たち。Never-afraid-of-cats chickens.
「あわわわわ、食われる！」"Awwwwwwww, they're gonna eat me!"
猫が安心して住める町は穏やかでいい町です。
A town where cats can live without the fear for human beings is a calm and good town.
Finally I got back Meikyon home with me and has recognized the happiness to live with this fluffy kitten. As Meikyon had played really much with my friend and had caught the massive attention of him, she has started crying out, "Kyyyyy, kyyyy!" when she wants my attention. I have been controlled by this tiny poor voice whatever I am doing...orz
「ふん、めいきょんを置いていくから悪いんだよ！」 "Ha, it's your fault. You went back to Kochi alone!"

高知で初詣に出かけた神社は、漁師町にある久礼八幡様で、ここには毎年行っています。猟師町だけあって、魚が豊富だし、それにともなって猫も沢山いるわけで。。。本日は番外編をお届け。

高知にいる間は、ムーちゃんとサクラちゃんという猫に慰めてもらっているわたしです。
During my stay in Kochi, the cats named Moo-chan and Sakura-chan heals me a lot.
我が家のスーパーモデルサクラちゃん。雑種とターキッシュバンの子。ものすごく運動能力が高い女の子。Our super model, Sakura-chan;. She was born between a mixed cat and a turkish van. She is such an athlete.
「あたしに話しかけるときは、ダイアモンドでももってらっしゃい。。。」"If you want to talk to me, bring me some diamonds...."
我が家のおっとり隊長。おとなしく、陰険。笑 アメリカンショートヘアの男の子。だっこに我慢がならないやつ。Our captain calm. Quiet and mean. lol. An AmericanShorthair boy. He hates the hugs.
「ぼ、僕は、別に、サクラがいても、構いません。でも、いない方がいいです。」
"I, I don't care about Sakura, but I would be happier, if Sakura is not here."

私の東京のアパートには、ダイニング用の椅子とソファ以外に椅子はありません。で、今めいきょんを預かってくれている友人宅にはソファと大きなデスクチェアがあります。めいきょん、デスクチェアを気に入ったご様子。
I have two chairs for dining and one sofa in my apartment in Tokyo. My friend who's looking after Meikyon now has a sofa and a big desk chair. Meikyon looks like she likes the desk chair a lot.
「毛布でカバーしてくれてありがとう。あなたはソファにお座りなさい。」 "Thanks for covering the desk chair with the blanket. You can sit on the sofa. "

この友人、かなりな猫好きで、猫にも大変好かれます。めいきょんも毎晩一緒に寝ているようです。彼のおかげで安心して里帰りができるので、ほんっと私は恵まれてるなーと思います。めいきょん、私を忘れててもいいけど、また好きになってね！：Ｄ

初夢と言えば、私の初夢はかなりチンプンな内容でした。おひょい（藤村新二）さんと一緒にオバマ次期大統領の運転手をしていたり、トム・クルーズと結婚したい、と泣きながらオーウェン・ウィルソンに相談していたり（むしろ結婚したいというか大好きなのはオーウェンのほう！）。。。なんともグローバルですが意味不明な初夢。
Speaking of the first dream of the year, mine was somewhat crazy. I was working as driver with Ohyoi-san (Shinji Fujimura, an old actor in Jpaan) for Barak Obama, or I was crying and consulting with Owen Wilson how I can marry Tom Cruise (I want to marry Owen! I love him!)....global but strange dream.
めいきょんの初夢はなんだったんでしょう。めいきょんが夢を見ることは分かっています。というのも、時々枕元で寝ながらウナるめいきょんで目が覚めたことがあるので。
What kind of the first dream of the year did Meikyon have? I know that she dreams, for I have been waken up by her roaring in her sleep next to my pillow sometimes.
「えっとー。。。猿と犬とキジがきび団子をめいきょんに渡してきたよ。どっかに代わりに行ってくれって。」 "Well, a monkey, a dog and a bird gave me some dango (japanese sweets made from rice powder) asking me to go somewhere in place of them."
行け、めいきょん。きっと桃太郎は失職するよ、めいきょんががんばるから。

「えー駄目だよ、めいきょんモニタ修理の依頼が入ってるもん」 "Ehhh, no I can:t. I've got a request to fix monitors for this dude."
ほほう、よっぽど依頼人は忙しいらしいな。猫の手も借りるなんて。。。（毛だらけになって終わるだろうに）
Wow, the requestor must be very busy to ask a cat for a help.....(the monitors will get furry but nothing other than that...)

昨日３１日の午後から実家高知県に私は里帰りをしていて、めいきょんは東京に住む友達に預けてきました。やっぱり、飛行機に乗せるのはかわいそうだし、先輩猫２匹がいる高知に連れてくるのもかわいそうで、預かってくれる猫好きの友達がいる私は幸せだと思います。
I have been back to my hometown, Kochi, since yesterday (31th) afternoon and I have left Meikyon to my friend living in Tokyo. I didn't want to make Meikyon experience the scary flight in the cargo area and also didn't want to bring her to the house where two big cats have resided already. So I was lucky to have a friend who likes cats a lot and is willing to take care of Meikyon.

「うんうん。で、まじでどういう彼女がいいわけ？」 "Yeah yeah...okay, then what kind of girl friend do you want, seriously? "（めいきょんを預かっているのは男性の友人。The friend looking after Meikyon is a male.)
「この青い生地で、今晩に間に合うようにドレスを作ってちょうだい」 "Make me a dress with this blue cloth by tonight."
「この丸い金属寒いから、毛糸でカバーつくってよ」"This metal round one is too cold for my feet. Cover it up with some knit."
